Hot day with peaches - then onto knitting socks

A beautiful start to what would be a busy and hot Friday.
As I returned from walking my dogs this morning - how I wish I had the camera to show you the sunrise!- at 7am I noticed the happy voices of the picking crew chatting in the orchard. They were just getting prepared to embark on the first day of this seasons peach harvest. In fact the first decent pick of some two year (old?) young trees. How exciting!
 Got to tell you: These peaches are scrumptilicious!
Let's see: sweet and juicy, still with crunch, slightly fuzzy skin and quite a number are bigger than a tennisball. Simply the best, and naturally I am totally objective here.

Now doesn't this look impressive? Should you wonder how much a bin of fruit weighs, it is ca 500kg. Yes half a ton of peaches, and in total we had 11 of these bins.....

Well, it almost 8pm, the tractors are in their shed ready for a rest, been given their dinner of oil and top up fuel, the family of 5 is fed...and to celebrate this is my first ever blog post.

Here I am sitting with a lovely cup of tea, on what turned out to be a hot and ever so humid day, and am looking forward to put the little one to bed, then get onto my knitting...

 The knitters amongst you will understand... a sock project can be done even on the hottest summer day, as well as being a great preparation for winter. Their bright green do remind me of the first lush grass of spring, don't you agree?
